Tech Task # 9 Internet Resources: #Education

For me, one amazing resource is a channel on the YouTube platform. YouTube #Education has videos of different educational fields such as social studies, science, grammar, mathematics, etc. This channel contains videos of Stanford University, PBS, TED, Khan Academy, among others. I have enjoyed discovering academic resources in this channel and I have used it on my placements. I shared it with my CTs and they have found it this channel useful. #Education permits exclusive access to educational content to avoid mistakes in the classroom.

Tech Task #8 Visual Literacy Infographic

Infographic is a visual helper that interrelate images and texts to communicate easily to understand Information with instantaneous interpretation using an infographic poster in the gymnasium of a healthy lifestyle. I think the infographic is a visual facilitator to understand and memorize information, we can develop specific information on any topic focused using photos and text information

In physical education, I am planning infographic information of nutrition plan, fitness plan, healthy exercise, heart rate activities, and healthy lifestyles activities I believe this is a good way for promoting the benefits of physical activities so the student can start to understand the impotence of practice physical activities I considered import too use  QR to the students acquire the infographic and develop  online connection.

Infographic can promote a nutrition plan including, definitions, one QR of Basal Metabolic Rate to recognize the amount calories that everyone can need daily and food benefits.

In my Physical education class I could use this infographic:

Weekly Blog Post # 8 Curiosity

The last Skype conference of this course was presented by Dean Shareski, who believe stimulate curiosity in the teachers will improve teaching and learning. He said, “If you are not curious you might have a difficult time teaching”. I agree with this concept because being curious wakes up our thoughts to feel and live the teaching and learning experience. I am a curious person and during the conference, I observed the T-shirt that Dean wore advertising Discovery Education Canada, so after, I went online to investigate it. I discovered a website, useful for teachers and students, where digital resources and activities can be found.

As teachers, we have to learn how to be curious. I think curious teachers can make curious students and curiosity is a natural ability and characteristic of humans that we forgot while we grow, but we can re-learn it. To start, we can try new food, speak with an stranger, ask ourselves questions about what is around us using the 6 Ws (What, Why, When, Where, Who and How), seek and read a book about something that you found interesting, look at the small things of every day and discover something beautiful on them, learn things (when you have knowledge, you can have new ideas), take risks and do not fear failure, because as Dean said, curiosity makes learning very joyful.

Tech Task # 7 Edublogger

Edublogger was a new experience that I enjoyed. I have the fortune of finding and analyzing many blogs and videos of technology that I found in the education blog of Notosh, following its Twitter, Facebook and YouTube videos. I discovered the position that today educators assume a different stance towards technology in this blog.

The edublogger of Ewan McIntosh that I chose, contain his professional trajectory and current work. I like how he organized and develop his Edublogg. McIntosh shared his professional skills and educational experiences. This website shares his blogs of information using YouTube, Twitter, and Linked to explain his techniques and investigation to apply in the education the technology.

Ewan McIntosh is the founder of Notosh Limited, the company is the advisor of hundreds schools and technologies in the UK. I am sharing his education blog because I learned that the future of education goes hand in hand with technology. Currently, McIntosh and 21 Century Learning International are developing conferences in education technology around the world.
Here I post an example of McIntosh’s work and information:

How do you nudge teachers into online coaching? 2016 in Travel

Once again, I've analysed my year of travel to see if I'm any closer to reducing it year on year. It's an annual habit, and if often kicks off new ideas that might affect my team's next year of work. The good answer is: yes, there is less travel! And not just that, but having reduced the schlepping I do, I've been able to hire more amazing people to lead on our work, and celebrate one of NoTosh's best years ever in terms of the quality, quantity and breadth of work we're doing.

Tech Task # 6 PLN & PLE Maps

Created the Map courses, I Inquired, developed, planned, organized. I put these topics into the map of course information. I believe this is a key serve to link students and subject information using technology.  Also, I agree with this planning application map into PLE and PLN.

I’m sure that the use the Map course for the students will be a great tool of study to them. Developing the map was a great opportunity to create new ideas and planning differences strategies for the classes.

I tried to use different platform to create my map, but to me Mindmeiser was adequate

Tech Task # 4 Identify / Footprint, Groups of Post-Secondary and High School Students

An identity is related directly with experiences and the goals one achieves. High school students compared to post-secondary students have differences identities, achievements and future goals. In the same way, their digital identity is affected by the things they post and do. This identity can affect their academic background and their real identity.
Developing network connection and communication skills using technology in every day life is easier for everyone in this age. Yet, focusing the technology with academic purposes has some similarities and differences according the academic background of the student.
Today making digital footprint are linked to build the digital identity and citizenship for teacher students and citizens. This responsibility of technology reflects the differences between these groups of students.

I have found these videos that I’ve found interesting.

Weekly Blog Post # 7 Classroom Projects and VR

Last Tuesday, we had a great experience: a Zoom Conferencing from Flin Flon Manitoba. The instructor Daniel Dillon explained and shared professional and personal experiences about his teaching around the world. His conference gave me the opportunity to understand that students can acquire and develop their own ideas using and applying technology in their projects.

In my opinion the project of 20 Time is a great opportunity for students to inquiry, create, invent, develop, and implement projects to resolve problems or generate benefits for the community. This kind of projects  make students to research, acquire  and apply knowledge with vision toward the real world.

I agree with the project of Genius Hour in the classroom, because when students work in what they like, they are more likely to enjoy school and acquire knowledge. The Genius Hour project seeks to encourage students to examine their own creativity using tools such as Google. This kind of projects promote student’s own learning in the classroom leaving behind the traditional learning. Teachers motivate students to acquire authenticity during the project. I consider that use this project in the classroom will bring true advantages for the students.

I believe VR technology has lots of information that we ignore, because we do not have the professional equipment. Using VR technology in the schools will help to improve inclusion and it is a good tool for the future of teaching.

Tech Task # 2: Curation

Everybody can obtain benefit of proper online organization anytime easily. There are multiple options to organize online data.. Last year during ICT class, I learned to apply Data Curation. The great possibility to obtain and storage information in a safe account are the benefits of Curation.

Develop data curation in the school allow the students to research, consult, identify, and file information easily. For curation we can use websites such as Symbaloo, and Evernote that for me are some of the best websites for data curation. In the classroom this websites are tools to identify, obtain, modified, use, storage and maintain data safety.

Some videos to discover Curation in the classroom

Weekly Blog Post # 6 Zoom to Synchronous

The new fabulous experience I acquired last Tuesday during the Internet for Educators class. We had the opportunity of realizing online class applying the synchronous using the Zoom platform conference to share audio and video online. Step by step our Instructor Nantais explained and described the tools that we need to use Zoom. In my opinion, it was positive, that the instructor gave us some instructions before the conference because it allows us to prepare the class so we could improve our participation during the practice quiz, and group discussion. With this methodology, I learned how to use Zoom conference in the class.

I used Zoom to prepare classes and share information, but with the synchronous class I learned how to use Zoom conference so I can use it with the students, Thank you Instructor Nantais for this conference.

The explanation of the next assignment about how to apply Voiced Thread and share online information is a good example of asynchronous and continues the students’ participation. The democracy, culture, internet, and education are changing, because the easiest way of communication is the internet that is affecting the human behavior, because the internet is controlling the human time activities, and we decide how to use it. I found interesting the next videos.

Weekly Blog Post # 5 Distance Education Manitoba Training

Conference by Shannon Magee & Chris Fredrickson.

Manitoba Scene
Last week, we received Professional and appropriate information, step by step and detailed about how to use Online Distance Education in Manitoba. In the website State of the Nation: K-12 eLearning in Canada we can obtain information of provinces and territories about the current state of distance, online and blended learning (e-learning)
InformNet Manitoba and Wapaskwa are virtual collegiate with online programs that are keys and tools for home students to develop their skills and complete their studies. The speaker explained that those websites connect teacher and students in online virtual classes. Also, the teachers could create, plan, develop and assess a virtual class for the students.

WBC
The most outstanding part for me of the conference of distance learning was the Blackboard Collaborate, because it is a great tool for the teacher to prepare online lesson plans, assessment, and virtual activities.  This website contains information of Manitoba curriculum of all subjects, information that is and will be of great help for us as future teachers.

Key to a Success Online Courses

Edmodo is a safe social network for learning where teachers can be in contact with students and parents. The teacher can post information such as assignments, projects, grades, school messages, and tips for study. I think this website could be a helpful tool for teachers in and outside the classroom.

After this conference, I felt comfortable, because I learned that Canada and particularly Manitoba are supporting distance education.

Every day, education is improving with technology! Yeah!

Weekly Blog Post # 4 Be Safe in the Internet

Dr. Alec Courus, using Zoom conferencing, explained different ways of technology, that as teachers, we should learn and use today in the classroom. Dr. Courus share some professional and personal examples of some dangers that people can face when using internet platforms.

The new generation is born and lives surrounded by technology; for example, 92% of US toddlers have a digital footprint, 34% have a digital footprint before birth, and 59% kids under 10 years old have a social account. In and out the schools, online information obtained easily in Google and YouTube are the more popular for study.

The internet business technology domain the information, content and smart devices that today are used in schools.  Changes in technology are fast and they could be good or bad, but depends on us the way we use it.

With the online conference, we understood exactly, how identity thief or impersonation of personal accounts happen, so we can take special care with unknown people online and avoid online social problems

Safe information and fake information and how that can affect the privacy with the cyberbullying that can attack anybody using social media internet platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and others. thanks, Dr. Courus for share this information,  because as teachers it is our responsibility to guide and inform to students the risks that they face with the use of technology and what is the safe way to use it.

Take care!

Weekly Blog Post # 3 Manitoba Professional Learning Environment

This week we had the second opportunity of receiving personal and professional advice and experiences’ John Evans, in a clear and methodical way, explained important details that we should consider as future teachers, also policies, rules and direct examples that we can use to apply in our teachings with our students in the classroom.

Evans explained and reaffirmed the use of Maple Forem website as a professional internet resource that we can use as teachers to show and follow great examples of creation, innovation, and development of thinking as Audri's Rube Goldberg Monster Trap, and Caine’s Arcade.

Research, planning and develop strategies for learning using a professional website as Maple Forem is a good help left by John Evans.

Weekly Blog Post # 2 Teachers Share IT

Hello. It is very rewarding for me to finish the last term with Internet for Educators, no doubt this course will enrich with new Internet strategies and resources that could be applied in the classroom. I am very enthusiastic about learning new technologies.
Last week the Internet for Educators’ classmates shared with me some information technology that was explained by Kristen Thompson and Tyler Letkeman about Internet tools for Curation, Organization, Communication, and Assessment.

The classroom websites resources for the students is a process of curation to gather information; Symbaloo is a tool for organizing personal information. Websites such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Remind are more commonly used for communication. Quizizz, Flipgrid, Blog, Plickers, Shapchat, and Quizlet are tools that can be used by teachers for assessments.

Tech Task # 9 Internet Resources: #Education

For me, one amazing resource is a channel on the YouTube platform. YouTube #Education has videos of different educational fields such as...
