FINAL POST

The ICT course gave me professional information about technology that could be incorporated in the classroom and the copyright law.  I enjoyed each class during the 9 weeks, I liked the opportunity to work on my own, explore the web sites learned and reflect about classes to write the blog.  I enjoyed the guest speakers and I think their conferences were useful for us as teachers. I am happy because I learned to use different technological tools to implement in my classroom.
Thank you teacher Mike for share with us your experience, and teaching us useful stuff.

Review of LwICT

Last Tuesday in the ICT class our instructor Dr. Nantais reviewed the LwICT and showed with more details its services and information that we can use to prepare lesson with the help of the technology. Digital citizenship and leadership give the kids the opportunity to access to the technology in an educational way. Also he explained the use of Media Smarts to use resources of digital media literacy of the province for any subjects and grade.

I enjoyed and learned in the class of smart board and notebook software with the digital frog dissection. Using that software we can create digital lesson with movement and animation effects.

Literacy with ICT and Copyright

Each class of ICT had very important information; during week #8 the guest John Finch explained very clearly the themes of Literacy in ICT and Copyright Matters!
The literacy with ICT had a good tool to be used by the teacher for the student’s assessment as learning.
ICT promote Critical Skills, Creating skills and Feedback for reflexion and those are appropriate to follow the cycle in ICT for teaching and student’s learning into the curriculum. Literacy with ICT is and will be a great tool of the government to transform and improve the Canadian education.

Changes in educational  technology are linked with International Copyright. Technology used in education has been protected with governmental law of Copyright in Canada. To follow Fair dealing Guidelines of copyright is very important for the teachers, so they  avoid contravening the law.

My Eportfolio

I enjoyed ICT class during week #5, because I acquired more information to develop my eportfolio.

I started with the website Wix, however I changed to the website Weebly, because I found it easier. I am learning more about how to build my eportfolio, but I am still in that process. I am so happy, because my eportfolio is a tool with which I can give a good first impression, people can know more about me, and I will have access to it with internet. Also last Tuesday, I liked the quiz using Kahoot website, although my advice worked slow and I cannot answer quickly the questions, I learned how to make quizzes using Kahoot online in the classroom.

Maple as a Teachers' Tool

In the ICT class we had this week professional information of student portfolios and Forum of Manitoba Education and Training (Maple). The guest, John Evans explained step by step the tips to reach success as teachers. Maple has resources that teachers can use in their subjects.
The Maple Forem is an appropriate network with security filters that can connect with Google Drive accounts. Maple also can be used in blogs.  I liked Evans’ blog Professional learning in 15 minutes or less, because it has useful links where we can find information.
Although I liked the talk and Evans’ professional presentation, I think the speaker should have more time to explain with more details some topics like Flipboard and Edutopia.

I enjoyed the presentation; I found it really useful, I think is a good tool for us as future teachers.

Using Web-Based Courses in the Classroom

During week # 3 of ICT we had a good opportunity of listen two guests from Manitoba Education and Training. They explained step by step the appropriate use of technology in the classroom.
They gave us enough reasons of what and why the technology is, and will be a support of learning online using a management system such as Blackboard to implement the curriculum.
I like both methods: The Online Distance Learning and Blended Learning that professional information is an appropriate reference of government to support the education to be used by teachers and students in a safely manner.

WBC is an education system that enrolls the student in learning online. In my opinion Black board is a good tool that allow student to work at their own pace and under teacher’s supervision.

Websites in the Classroom

During the week #2 of ICT, I enjoyed the topics curation and Google Docs, our instructor shared with us others websites such as, Edmodo, Evernote, Diigo,  and Symbaloo. Those are safe and appropriate websites to use in education in the classroom for guide the students into the information technology field. As teachers we should guide our students in the use of new websites; and in this way we can give them examples of how to use correctly those websites and avoid the inappropriate use of the internet.
I found this video interesting about collaboration in the classroom with Google Docs

Technology in Education

In the last 60 years the technology has been improved and used in every discipline and human activities. Technology is used from labs to farms and it is a key in human evolution.

Education has been used technology as an organizational tool and information storage and recently it start to being used in the learning process.  Teachers need to understand and learn to use new technologies because it creates opportunities for students to learn and can help them to develop creativity and research skills. Technology can help teachers to expand content and facilitate explanation of complex topics or abstract concepts with the use of multimedia and internet. Therefore, teachers should acquire technology literacy skills, so they can prepare their students to live in the actual world where the use of technology and  skills such as access, analyze and organize information, solve problems and think critically.

I think that government should create an educational web site  that allow students use internet safely while they research and build knowledge, encouraging them to learn through internet with prizes and scholarships.

Tech Task # 9 Internet Resources: #Education

For me, one amazing resource is a channel on the YouTube platform. YouTube #Education has videos of different educational fields such as...
